Hi there. I am Shawn Smith. I am a New Jersey-based Smart Medical Device content writer.

On this page, I wanted to share a bit more about myself.
I have a BSBA in Finance from Villanova University. After my time at Villanova, I received my commission in the US Navy and spent nine years on ship and shore duties. The Navy taught me three valuable life lessons which have served me well. They are: Discipline and structure but having fun while doing those; Learning how to deal with different and difficult personalities; and Breaking down the complex into simple workable systems.

After the Navy I worked in my family’s business for over fifteen years where I developed all the skills of a Small Business Owner. After 25 years, the family business closed due to many industry changes which resulted in destroying our customer base.
I am now a Financial Analyst/Senior Researcher for a Fund-to-Fund Investment Firm. As a Senior Researcher for the company, I became very interested in start-up companies devising Smart Medical Devices. I have been doing this research for over five years and enjoy the work. I also recognized that a lot of these start-ups do not have a good marketing strategy. As a small-business owner, I can help you.
